The course consists of lectures and laboratory work.
The lectures mainly concern: the definitions of urban planning, the process of formation of the contemporary city, the relationship between the project and the context, introduction to national and regional legislation with particular reference to the legislation relating to urban planning, environment and landscape, outline their main theories of planning by Ildefonso Cerda to Bernardo Secchi.
The laboratory activities are divided:
Exercises of urban technical
intermediate monitoring;
work end of course.
The exercises have the aim to introduce students to the knowledge of the main urban planning techniques, the specific operating practices and terminology.
Intermediate checks are two (dates will be agreed upon in class with students).
The Course Work consists in the introduction to the main conceptual and methodological tools for the description and interpretation of the context. It is planned to draft four-A3 tables.
