Extended Syllabus A) FIRST PART - COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT AND SCHOOL LEARNING: INDIVIDUAL PROCESSES
Cognitive development and scholastic learning: individual processes. The basics of cognitive functioning and learning. The cognitive processes of learning: attention, perception, memory, thought, intelligence. The metacognitive, motivational and emotional processes of learning and social support
B) SECOND PART - COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT AND SCHOOL LEARNING: CONTEXTUAL INFLUENCES
Learning and inclusion at school. Learning and contextual influences: class management and student engagement. Learning and contextual influences: school climate, stress management and organizational well-being at school.

Methods of Provision
Teaching Methods The course consists of 48 hours of teaching based on lectures, discussion on the results of Italian and international surveys, case studies and group activities.
Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
First part: written test based on two open questions related to the text of Cornoldi et al (2018). For every question the score goes from 0 to 10.
Second part: oral exam on the texts by Molinari and Consuelo (2015) and by Guglielmi and Fraccaroli (2016). The score for the oral exam ranges from 0 to 10 (0-5 for each of the two texts).
Note: attending students can take the oral exam by discussing an individual "Project Work".
