Module 3
Exercise project module, in English, carried out by the visiting professor Freddy Diaz, entitled: “Retake Rancitelli, Local urban regeneration plans for the periphery of Pescara, for 4 CFU.

The exercise concerns the development of a medium complexity urban project, drawn up according to a common methodology, aimed at constructing and verifying its ex ante conditions (SWOT analysis, sizing and ecological footprint verification) and ex post evaluations (feasibility and technical sustainability, environmental, landscaping, socio-economic and financial aspects of the project, within the context of the study (neighborhoods in the outskirts of Pescara).
This work benefits from the teaching activity carried out by the students in Urban Planning 1 of the previous year, addressed to the same context of study (inhabitants and active citizenship map, urban common goods map, risk and degradation map, superordinate constraints map, State implementing the PRG, ongoing actions, Strategic Agenda and guiding vision), already in the students' baggage.

An accurate review of case studies of international interest relating to models and examples of urban regeneration applied to contexts of marginality and social exclusion will be produced and presented by the teacher in charge of the module.
In particular, for the purpose of the final exam test, the presentation of an individual monograph relating to the analysis of a case study relating to an urban regeneration project of a marginal context, realized or in progress, agreed with the teaching, developed through texts, original cartographies and graphic reworkings, related to the initial project, its realization and the effects generated (social, economic, urban and landscape effects).
In accordance with the title of the module, case studies will be favored that present an interest in terms of innovation and experimentation in management practices, not necessarily public, of goods and services of common sense and use (public spaces, public and collective equipment essential resources (water, agricultural land, landscape, cultural and environmental heritage).

Finally, during the exercise activities, elementary learning of theoretical and practical notions relating to the construction of territorial information systems, in relation to the topic of the exercise, is also foreseen, also through apprenticeship on open source programs (Quantum Gis).

Module 4
Participatory workshops of investigation, design and self-construction "INsegnalibro", for 2 credits.
The students of the course, involved as tutor assistants in the laboratory activities, learn some participation techniques in the field in relation to three fields of action:
- W.1 Urban investigation workshop, to be carried out in collaboration with the schools Comprensivo 1, Manthonè, MIBE;
- W.2 Design workshop for participatory self-construction activities of tangible and intangible devices to support the culture of the book and the invitation and the discovery of reading and cultural practices (Clouds of reading), to be carried out in collaboration with educational institutions Inclusive 1, Manthonè, MIBE;
- W.3 Collaborative construction sites for the construction and placement in schools and in common urban goods identified by W.1 of the devices subject to the design of the action project W.2 (Literary clouds), to be carried out in collaboration with the educational institutions.
