Objectives
Contents The Italian theatrical repertoire of prose, from the Risorgimento stage to the American scene.
Extended Syllabus Lessons propose an excursus of a textual and critical nature that illustrates in detail the extraordinary transit of the Italian prose repertoire, from the Risorgimento stage to the American scene (American, Caribbean and Latin sub-continent) of the late nineteenth century, perpetrated by our great actors. Also the 19th century European theater environment which, with lights and shadows, is the background to the vast phenomenon of the tours, will be analyzed through the coeval narrative. Specifically, the genre of the 'scene novel' will be explored, widespread throughout Europe and which holds the value of anatomizing the contemporary world of theater.
