This module aims at performing an overview on issues linked to the Environmental Management Systems (EMS) that are applicable and recognised both at a European and at an international level. In order to integrate the presentation of EMSs, other tools related to Life Cycle Thinking (LCT) will be taken into consideration, as well.
1) Knowledge and understanding. Know the main references that allow companies to obtain recognition of their sustainability performance. 2) Ability to apply knowledge and understanding. Learning of the principles and requirements necessary to implement an environmental management system: EMAS and ISO 14001 regulations. 3) Autonomy of judgment. Knowing how to identify useful indicators to meet the requirements contained in the main environmental technical standards. 4) Communication skills.
