First part of the course (15 hours)
Introduction: the psychology of work and organizations and the birth of occupational health psychology
Approaches to the study of organizational quality of life: work-related stress and well-being
• The regulatory framework on safety and the assessment of work-related stress risk and psychosocial risks
• Traditional and emerging psychosocial risks
• Theories and models of occupational health
• The role of dispositional and personal variables: risks and resources
• Not just stress and burnout: work engagement, workaholism and job satisfaction
Second part of the course (15 hours)
In-depth study of issues relevant to occupational health psychology and assessment of work-related stress:
• Technologies and work: critical points and opportunities
• Psychophysical health, work and return to work
• Work-life balance
• Safety at work
• The challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic for well-being and quality of working life
[Attending students will be offered to explore one of these issues through group work, for example in the analysis of the literature and in-depth study of health prevention and promotion strategies]
Research and intervention methods (10 hours)
• Stress and well-being assessment tools in organizations
o qualitative and quantitative methodologies
o application of the assessment of the organizational quality of life: from the choice of analysis tools to the presentation of research reports
From stress assessment to health prevention and promotion (8 hours):
• Primary, secondary and tertiary prevention interventions in organizations
