Course Sheet Academic Year of enrolment:
Professor and Collaborators:
Hours of classroom activity:
Prerequisites:
Basic knowledge of representation methods, drawing tools and techniques.
Basic skills in the use of computers and the most common software packages.
Objectives
Contents Starting from the logical tools of digital representation and their technical evolution, we will focus on 2D digital representations, 3D modeling, creation of presentation boards and interactive online models.
Moreover, we will address digital drawing, from a theoretical and practical point of view, as an aid to the understanding of space and as a tool for architectural and territorial representation.
Extended Syllabus The Digital Representation course includes the following topics of study:
1) The elements of technical drawing;
2) Geometric entities and fundamental operations;
3) Methods of representation;
4) Difference of raster and vector methods of representation.
5) The presentation in project drawing layouts.
These topics will also be explored through communications related to the reading of geometric models and selection of significant drawings.
The study of the methods of Descriptive Geometry, technical drawing, normalized graphic conventions and the fundamentals of CAD is proposed to prepare the student for the control of the built environment and urban and architectural space. Particular attention will be given to teaching the methods and techniques of representation with graphic applications at different scales from architectural to urban.

Methods of Provision
Teaching Methods The topics of digital representation will be addressed through frontal lessons and experimented with laboratory methodology. In order to accompany the student to the realization of the exercises and of the conclusive tables will be fixed regular revisions, single and collective, through which to verify the progress of the elaborations and of the relative knowledge, competences and abilities.
Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
At the end of the lessons, students will be invited to verify what they have learned during the course. The final vote will also include the evaluation of the works made during the course and the final ones in which a small building will be represented, chosen among those proposed by the teacher.
Contacts/More Information During the course, the reception of students will take place after class.
