Objectives
Contents With regard to gynecology, notions of anatomy and physiology of the female genital system will be resumed and clinical and instrumental diagnostic techniques in gynecology will then be treated. Subsequently, topics of gynecological endocrinology, infertility, pelvic floor pathology and benign and malignant pathology of the female genital system will be discussed. As for obstetrics, physiological pregnancy will be treated from fertilization to childbirth and the puerperium. In the area of maternal and fetal medicine, the main medical diseases that can complicate pregnancy will be treated, with particular attention to hypertension and diabetes. Infectious diseases and fetal growth disorders will also be treated. As part of obstetric pathology, all pathologies related to pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum will be treated, with particular attention to pretemine birth and obstetric emergencies.
Extended Syllabus OBSTETRIC AND GYNECOLOGY PROGRAM
GYNECOLOGY Anatomy of the female genital system. Physiology of the ovarian cycle. Gynecological diagnostics (examination, ultrasound, hysteroscopy, colposcopy). Disorders of the ovarian cycle. Contraception. Infertility. Menopause. Main benign and malignant pathologies of the female genital system.
OBSTETRICS. Fertilization and implant. Placental anatomy and physiology. Extrauterine pregnancy. Abortion. Physiological changes of the main apparatuses in pregnancy. Surveillance protocol for physiological pregnancy and fetal well-being. Labor, childbirth and puerperium. Caesarean section. Prenatal diagnosis. Twin pregnancy. Main maternal diseases in pregnancy (hypertension, diabetes, infections). Preterm birth. Intrauterine growth retardation. Maternal-fetal isoimmunization. Placenta previa and abruptio placentae.

Teaching Methods The teaching is structured in 15 hours of frontal teaching, divided into lessons of 2 or 3 hours according to the academic calendar. Frontal teaching consists of theoretical lessons and seminars held by experts on the topics covered.
Attendance is compulsory for at least 70% of the lessons.
Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
The verification of the students' preparation will take place by carrying out an oral test aimed at ascertaining the learning, conceptual mastery, language properties as well as the ability to interpret and synthesize the medical knowledge acquired.
