Extended Syllabus Definition of infectious and communicable diseases. Mechanisms of host defense. The ways of transmission of the infection. Knowledge necessary to implement effective prevention of communicable diseases. Clostridium difficile infection. Antibiotic associated diarrhea. Prevention of infectious risk in airborne diseases. Prevention of infectious risk in diseases transmitted by contact. Prevention of infectious risk in vertically transmitted diseases. The methods of notification of infectious diseases.
