Contents The course aims to provide the basis for understanding the link between the environment and human health.
In particular, the following topics will be covered:
• Hygiene of the air
• Hygiene of water
• Hygiene of soil
• Asbestos
Extended Syllabus Air hygiene: Chemical composition and physical characteristics, main sources and mechanisms of pollution.
Water hygiene: Chemical composition and physical characteristics, Mode of supply, main sources and mechanisms of pollution and contamination, water examination: physical, chemical and microbiological parameters, main methods of drinking water.
Soil hygiene: factors of soil pollution and consequences for human health
Asbestos: Structural characteristics and consequences for human health, main environmental remediation methods, disposal methods

Teaching Methods The teaching is structured in frontal lessons of 2 hours according to the teaching calendar. The lessons include a strong interactive component between Teacher and Students.
Attendance is compulsory.
Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
Oral exam: the student must demonstrate his preparation by dealing in a clear and organized way with the topics requested by the teacher.
The evaluation will be carried out using votes in thirtieth.
