Objectives
Contents Physiologic deglutition in children, from fetal life to scholar age. Main congenital or acquired diseases as cause of dysphagia surgical interest (labiopalatoschisis, tie tongue, esophageal atresia, intestinal anomalies, neurologically impaired children, gastro-esophageal reflux, caustic ingestion, foreign bodies ingestion). Diagnostic and therapeutic approach to dysphagia in children
Extended Syllabus Normal deglutition in healthy fetus, newborn and infant. Pediatric causes of dysphagia: neurological impairement, congenital facial and esophageal anomalies, behavioral disturbances, cardio-respiratory disturbances.
Diagnostic approach to pediatric dysphagia: swallowing assessement test, instrumental evaluation (video-fluoroscopy, FESS,…)
Therapeutic approach to pediatric dysphagia
