Objectives
Contents - knowledge of cognitive processes
- the main theoretical models
- perception and emotion from the philosophical approach to current neuroscience research
Extended Syllabus The study of cognitive processes will be addressed through a basic presentation of the topic from a philosophical-psychological point of view, to then illustrate the fundamental research and the main research paradigms and theoretical models. Attention will be focused on perception and emotion, on their theoretical discussions in the course of history (in particular Spinoza's Ethics) and the problems still open in the field of neuroscience.

Teaching Methods The course topics will be presented through lectures, but also group discussions are planned in order to stimulate a critical perspective on the study of the topics covered.
Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
The final exam will consist of an oral discussion, based on the knowledge of the topics covered during the course. Attendance and individual participation in discussions during the course will also contribute to the final evaluation.
