Objectives
Contents The course aims to provide students with an historical view of world economic development. Classes concern main events and innovations that characterized the rise of market economy, with the contextual political, institutional and socio-economic transformations. Lectures start with a brief summary of pre-industrial economy and follow deepening especially the industrial transformations that are at the beginning of the globalization of the markets, with the most rilevant notions theorized to explain these events.

Teaching Methods Frontal lectures. Students who regularly attend the course are invited to produce little written reports and verbal presentations on the subject of the lectures.
