ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN (SMALL BUILDING) Single discipline educational activity
Course Sheet Academic Year of enrolment:
Disciplinary Sector:
Architectural and Urban Composition
Professor and Collaborators:
Hours of classroom activity:
Prerequisites:
rappresentazioni.
Objectives
Contents The second year Architectural Design course is finalized
to the study and understanding of simple compositional techniques for
design of small architectural organisms. The course is
divided into two phases. A first phase of analysis of the urban context of
reference and a second phase of developing design hypotheses.
The urban context and the architectural space of reference, both in the phase
of reading, both in the interpretation phase and in the more specific one
of design re-proposal, is broken down into its components
essential. These components will be investigated as well as in their own
physical dimension and spatial organization, even in theirs
material, technical and constructive consistency, trying to
highlight the relationship, often very obvious, between shapes, materials and
technologies. The project, therefore, is configured as a sort of balance
final in which the measurement of the individual elements are integrated
construction and the size of the spaces they enclose, within one
design strategy capable of satisfying the reasons for the program
architectural-functional assigned.

The course will be divided into different seminars and design exercises
they will be followed by tutors together with the course holder according to the dates
included in the educational activities programme. The exercises will be
individual and will constitute the specific teaching activity of each seminar. In
correspondence with the thematic workshops, exercises will be provided
collective meetings with the tutors, with the course teacher and with the teachers invited to the
workshops.
The course lasts six months. Lessons, exercises and reviews yes
will carry out exclusively according to the AA. 2022/2023. The exams of
profit are set by the calendar, beyond which it will not be carried out
no additional teaching activities. Students are admitted to
take the exam individually with the identification of strategies
projects developed in groups.

Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
Mandatory progressive checks are foreseen according to the deadlines
programmed by the teaching activities (and coinciding with the workshops
thematic). Students are required to submit the requested papers
according to the scheduled dates. Mandatory progressive checks
constitute a guarantee to continue the activity within the seminars e

the exam within the times set by the course program. The profit exam is
intended as the last teaching delivery offered by the Course
student. The exams will be carried out as scheduled.
