The course in Cardio-circulatory Physiopathology and Cardiovascular Perfusion Techniques belongs to Class 3 of the Degrees in Technical Health Professions. The three-year program is organized in semesters. The first semester of the first year is dedicated to the acquisition of basic knowledge in the biological, anatomical and technological field. In the next second semester the physiopathological knowledge with particular attention to the cardiovascular system is deepened and conventional teaching activities will be accompanied by traineeship experiences that will continue in the next two years, allowing students to acquire skills in the specialized activities. The course consists of lessons, practical exercises on the use of equipment and mandatory clinical stages. These represent a part of primary importance of training, allow students to acquire professional skills in Cardiology and Cardiac surgery. Technicians in Cardio-circulatory Physiopathology and Cardiovascular Perfusion are health professionals specialized in the use and maintenance of equipment used for extracorporeal circulation, hemodynamic, electrophysiology, and ultrasound imaging. Their responsibilities are prevalently of a technical nature as they assist medical personnel by providing essential instructions on using equipment for hemodynamic diagnostics or to replace cardiovascular functions. They also plan, manage, and assess the requirements for the proper functioning of equipment, thereby guaranteeing the effective application of support techniques.
