Students will develop metalinguistic awareness of the English syntax, semantics and pragmatics.
Lectures will focus on the structure of simple and complex sentences, the syntactic relatedness, sentence information and variations in the information structure.
Furthermore, text analysis, cohesive relations, register and speech roles, as well as discourse in context, coherence, relevance will be taken into consideration.
The Linguistic Centre Lettorato will run classes aimed at a C1 level of language proficiency (CEFR), in writing and in speech, both in production and in reception. The assessment of a C1 level is essential to the overall assessment of the course.
