One of the crucial periods in Western history, the one corresponding to the so called "Church reform", can be better understood thanks to the contribution of Paleography and Codicology, as demonstrated by the analysis of Atlantic Bibles, perhaps the most telling among all objects elaborated by the reformed culture. In particular, the study of about 60 recently discovered fragments of a Giant Bible in Penne allows to understand the characteristics of the original manuscript and the relationship between the dioceses of Penne and the Papacy in the years 1050-1070.
