It is preferable, but not necessary, to have a basic knowledge of the history of Western philosophy.
Objectives Contents The course intends to dwell in the first part on some fundamental elements of philosophical reflection on morals, following the lines of interpretation of a great thinker of the twentieth century, Hannah Arendt.
Extended Syllabus In the pages of Arendt, the result of lessons held by Arendt in the United States in the mid-sixties, there is the beginning of that reflection on the "banality of evil" complementary, but not opposed, to that on the "radicality of evil", developed in the years of the writing of "The origins of totalitarianism".
