Prerequisites:

It is advisable to have already acquired the knowledge of the history of art from the times before the one treated, with particular attention to the medieval period

Objectives

The course is part of the general purpose of the course of study to provide the basic interpretative tools in the field of historical-artistic assets and provides the tools for understanding the development of the figurative arts and architecture in Italy between the fifteenth and the eighteenth century. Methods will also be discussed, to allow students to continue with a path of study of the themes traeted during the lessons.

For everyone student:

The main themes of Italian art of the period between the fifteenth and the eighteenth century:

The Late Gothic
Birth and diffusion of the perspecive in art
The capitals of the Reanaissance
The ‘maniera moderna’
The development of the Renaissance in Rome, Venice and Florence
Art at the time of the Council of Trent
Classicism, naturalism and baroque in the seventeenth century
The art of the eighteenth century in Italy between Rococo and Illuminism

Further information on the topics indicated will be provided for the students who have to take the 12 CFU and 9 CFU exam, as indicated in the section: Reference Texts.

Verification of learning:

The exam consists of an oral interview with a final single mark in thirtieths.
