The course aims to provide students with knowledge on the theoretical, epistemological and practical aspects of social pedagogy, with particular reference to places, contexts and recipients of educational and training intervention (infancy, subjects in a state of social exclusion, immigrants, women , seniors, adults, family, leisure time), analyzing methodological practices and tools. An important part of the program will focus on intercultural competences within the different multiethnic and multicultural contexts, investigating the theme of intercultural pedagogy in its historical, theoretical and methodological aspects. In particular, topics such as the "different" in religions, intercultural education practices and the political and social practices of confrontation between different cultures and ethnic groups will be discussed. Particular emphasis will be given to the field of intercultural mediation, an indispensable and indispensable tool in a multiethnic and multiracial society oriented towards social inclusion and good intercultural practices within the most varied training contexts, from reception centers, to schools, to services educational and recreational activities on the territory, in a perspective capable of opening up to the social complexity and the richness of the multicultural dimension, favoring the acquisition of a fundamental "intercultural competence".
