The teaching contributes to the learning objectives of the Degree course, promoting a solid awareness of the theoretical bases and methodological
tools inherent in historical discipline, bibliographic research and source analysis, in particular along the following lines:
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
Pursue in-depth knowledge of the historical, political and social dynamics that have characterized Eastern Europe, and similarly of their
connections with European and global history; in-depth study of research and historiographical analysis methodologies; establish links between local and global histories; enable multidisciplinary approaches in the field
of historical research and of source analysis.
ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
Develop the attitude to an interdisciplinary approach in organization,
management and presentation of the skills of analysis and
historiographical research acquired during the course.
INDIPENDENCE OF JUDGEMENT
Favour the acquisition of independence of judgement in research and in analysis of historical sources, in the collection, organization and management of complex cultural data set in broader frames of reference. Ability to analyse and understand the phenomena of Eastern Europe, with
special reference to the contemporary age, in the light of relationships
and connections with European history and culture.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Favour abilities in expounding and communicating, in speech and writing,
the results of individual study and research with the aid of computer technologies and specific
linguistic skills.
