The course contributes to the achievement of the educational objectives of the CdS in Pedagogical Sciences, by providing with the theoretical and practical tools to develop a "knowledge" and a "know-how" both consistent with the prerogatives of educators and trainers. The course aims to consolidate and systematize the theoretical knowledge indispensable for the construction of the pedagogist's competence, facilitating its direct practical application through exercises that place students in front of the challenges that each phase of the planning of an educational intervention implies and proposes.
With reference to knowledge and comprehension skills, at the end of the study course students are expected to have acquired the ability to:
- distinguish the basic theoretical concepts that pertain to the "education" thematic core, developing awareness of the impact of environmental and social factors on the educational process;
- connect the learning process with the educational intervention, understanding aims, levels, elements and phases of the design;
- distinguish the different types of skills that design aims to develop and recognize the most suitable learning models to develop them;
- acquire awareness of the different teaching methods, with particular attention to those that imply and implement a consistent know-how; understand the concept and meaning of formative assessment.
With reference to the ability to apply knowledge, as well as to the autonomy of judgment, at the end of the course students are expected to know how to conduct a qualitative analysis of problems and training objectives; they are therefore supposed to be able to devise and divide a path of knowledge into thematic units of learning; to have developed a metacognitive competence about their own learning model and, desirably, a more application-oriented learning pattern; to have
developed at least a basic design skill, therefore the ability not only to conceive but also to develop and properly design an integrated educational project, including indication of the tangible and intangible assets involved, and consistently with given objectives.
Finally, with reference to communication skills, the ability to express oneself in a clear, pertinent and well-reasoned manner, together with the ability to refer also to sources other than those suggested, is considered a result of utmost importance.
The achievement of such a result is also considered indicative of an advanced learning ability consistent with what is required of a master's student, and for the same desirable.
