In conformity and coherent with the learning objectives of the three-year
Degree Course, students must acquire specific knowledge concerning
the scientific approach with the literary text and a good opportunity in
the use of the tools of criticism (encyclopedias, bibliographic guides,
stories of literature and of criticism) to be applied in the reflection and
analysis of the proposed author's texts.
Among the knowledge it is appropriate that the student, at the end of the
lessons, shows mastery in the language of the literature, style and
narrative techniques related to the series of critical reading experiences
offered. It is also opportune that the student proves to know how to
orientate between the coeval and thematically related texts with those
proposed; that is informed on the most relevant criticisms applied to the
exegesis of the author's text and on the sources that contributed to its
construction, as well as on the "history of mentality" contextual to the
literary production itself. It is also necessary that the knowledge of the
development, in a diachronic sense, of the personalities and the
criticisms and historiography applied to the Italian literature is also ripe.
Among the skills it is desirable that the student consolidate a role as far
as possible autonomous in the exegesis and in the judgment of the
literary text; in a critical way in the critical panorama, coming to mature,
in light of the methods learned, a personal attitude to the choice and
reading of a series of related thematic texts.
Therefore, the autonomy of judgment must be considered the
communicative ability that is persuasive both to the oral presentation of
the acquired critical positions and acquired, as well as to the production
of a short written essay: the dissemination of critical thinking at any level,
even compared to the simple three-year thesis.
The exercise on the literary text is the tool to confer: the progressive
refinement of the argumentative skills, the critical spirit and the
autonomy of judgment, whose mastery makes the student ready to face,
given the possession of the right requirements, a possible Master's
Degree Program.
