Extended Syllabus The course will cover the following topics:
The aim of this course is to provide the bases for analyzing economic phenomena in different territorial contexts. Starting from basic notions and modeling, the economic and political contexts underlying the concept of development and its different variations in the various world regions will be highlighted. In particular, the systemic correlations of environmental, economic, political, cultural and social factors will be highlighted. The connections between them produce peculiar local and global scenarios, creating systems and networks of interrelations, on which the course will reflect on the different scales of analysis.In the last part, the course will focus on the geography of the entrepreunership and the correlations between territory and technological dynamics.At the end of the course the student will be able to have a basic knowledge of the territorial contexts of reference of the economic activity and will be able to understand the interactions between global phenomena and geography, being able to evaluate territorial context analysis related to economic activities.

Methods of Provision Teaching Methods The course will take place through classroom lectures and discussions with students on the topics covered. The lessons will be based mainly on the illustration of theoretical and general contents, but there will also be concrete cases. In addition, specific seminars and subject comprehension tests can be provided. The lessons will be conducted through the use of slides, which will be provided to students in pdf format in the docs section of the teacher on the website of the Department of Economic Studies
Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
The examination will focus on an oral test with a final grade according to current legislation, aimed to verify the knowledge and understanding of the topics covered during the course and present in the study program. Furthermore, the examination aims to verify the ability to apply knowledge through the solution of case studies.The evaluation will be based on the argumentative capacity of explanation by the student on the topics covered and on the ability to formulate his own thoughts about what learned in the course.
