The module provides advanced training in clinical psychiatry providing instruments for (1) the understanding of psychic activity and physiological correlates, (2) a correct diagnostic classification of mental disorders, problems associated with mental distress and possible therapeutic choices. Specifically, it frames the neurophysiological processes correlated with the main psychic disorders and with the alterations present in mental disorders.
1) Graduate will be able to demonstrate advanced communication and learning skills in neurophysiological topics.
2) Graduate will be able to demonstrate comprehension ability applied to psycho-pathological aspects.
3) Graduate will be able to have a critical ability in issues concerning the involvement of neurophysiology
4) Graduate will be able to understand physiological processes related to the commonly used psychotropic drugs and of the main drugs of abuse.
5) Graduates will be able to develop the skills to independently investigate the topics of interest for them.
6) Graduate will be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge and understanding of psychiatric symptoms and psychopatology of the psychiatric disorders.
7) Graduate will acquired the ability to conduct a psychiatric interview and be able to make a diagnostic hypothesis.
8) Graduate will be able to demonstrate the critical ability in identify and discuss strengths and weaknesses of the international psychiatric classification.
9) Graduate will be able to select the better therapeutic choice available for an individualized patient care
10) Graduate will be able to analyze and communicate the knowledge learned on psychiatric disorders to expert and naïve audience.
