Traumatic pathologies of the musculoskeletal system will be analyzed within the course.
First, bone fractures will be treated from an epidemiological and etiological point of view.
After deepening the concepts of bone repair, surgical and non surgical treatments of traumatic bone injuries will be considered.
As part of the surgical treatments, the concepts of osteosynthesis and prosthetic replacement will be studied in depth.
Immediate, early and late local and general complications of fractures will then be analyzed.
A separate chapter will then be represented by pre-, peri- and post-operative nursing and the principles of rehabilitation of the operated patient.
Bone and pathological fractures of the elderly will then be treated by investigating the specificities of the elderly patient and the social impact that these conditions determine.
Finally, specific sports traumatic injuries (sprains and joint dislocations, ligament injuries, tendon injuries, cartilage injuries, muscle injuries) will be treated, underlining the anatomopathological aspects of the injuries, therapeutic possibilities and rehabilitation protocols.
