EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
The course aims at defining motivations and limitations of public policies in the economy. It provides theoretical and methodological tools to analyze economic policies, with particular attention to fiscal policies and consequences for the government budget and public debt. It points out the distributive aspects of public policies both in the short and long-term.
EXPECTED LEARNING RESULTS:
The student will have to be able:
-To understand the role and the effects of public interventions in the economy both in the short and long-run;
-To understand the phases characterizing the application of economic policies, from theoretical analysis to empirical evaluation;
-To develop abilities to carry out analysis of income inequality and economic poverty, taking into account the role of public policies;
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING.
At the end of the course, the student will have:
- Assimilated fundamental aspects of the public intervention in the economy;
- Acquired instruments for the analysis of economic policies;
- Developed abilities in carrying out analysis related to income inequality and economic poverty;
