Institutional knowledge of Labor Law as well as International and European Union Law is appropriate.
Objectives
Contents The course covers the system of international and European sources of Labour Law, and focuses on the role of the International Labour Organization and its control and supervision mechanisms, the social dimension of EU law, the international Charters of Fundamental Rights (ECHR, ECHR, EU Charter) and judicial review mechanisms, on EU primary and secondary social law, in particular on free movement of workers and transnational posting, on gender equality and prohibitions of discrimination, on European social dialogue and transnational collective bargaining, on European Works Councils. The lecturer may agree with the attending students to deal with a monographic topic, based on her current research interests.
Extended Syllabus International sources of labor law, the ILO and its tripartite constituency, the system of supervision and control over the implementation of international standards, core conventions, guidelines for multinational enterprises and obligations of socially responsible conduct, transnational collective bargaining and international framework agreements, European Union social policy and the social provisions of the Treaties, charters of rights, free movement of workers and services, prohibitions of discrimination, European social dialogue, the relationship between economic freedoms and fundamental workers' rights, European Works Councils.

Methods of Provision
Teaching Methods The course includes lectures, exercises, case studies, document analysis, and guided discussions on topics prepared by students. The course includes in-depth thematic studies through research and analysis of documents, seminars with qualified stakeholders, group work and report writing. Attendees will be asked to complete a weekly class journal in which to report the level of understanding of the topics covered, the difficulties met, the clarifications required.
Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
For attending students, all the activities carried out in the classroom will be evaluated to verify learning and will contribute to the establishment of the final grade. They will bring to the final exam a paper agreed with the teacher. For non-attenders, the exam consists of 4 questions on the different parts of the program, aimed at verifying the understanding of the transnational legal framework, the property of language, the correct approach to the problems. The judgment is expressed by a vote in thirtieths, with a minimum grade of 18/30.
Contacts/More Information The professor and her assistants receive students on a weekly basis at the professor's office in the Department of Law and Social Sciences. The day and time of the meeting are published on the Giurinn page. On this page are published the in-depth materials and case studies to be discussed in class. Classes are held in the first semester. The times and the classrooms of the lessons are published on the electronic board at the entrance of the Viale Pindaro building.
