Methods of Provision
Teaching Methods Frontal teaching, with strong seminar component: the active participation of students during lectures is therefore particularly appreciated.
Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
The final assessment consists of an oral exam on the entire syllabus. The aim is to assess the students’ skills and particularly their understanding of the issues discussed during the course, the appropriate knowledge of the bibliography in the course programme, the correct command of the specific language as well as critical and methodological abilities. The following evaluation grid will be used in awarding the final grade:
1 - 17, fail: poor knowledge of the examination bibliography, preparation on the contents lacunose and superficial, errors in the application of concepts and in the use of the technical terminology of the discipline; poor exposition.
18 - 21, sufficient: knowledge of the examination bibliography superficial, preparation on the contents sufficient, but with exposure not always adequate and uncertainty in the application of concepts and in the use of technical terms of the philological discipline.
22 - 24, fair: knowledge of the examination bibliography and technical terminology of the discipline adequate, preparation on the contents appropriate but not thorough, ability to apply the theoretical concepts and to present the contents in a simple way.
25 - 27, good: fair knowledge of the examination bibliography, appropriate preparation of content, good ability to apply theoretical concepts and to use the technical terminology of the discipline; content is presented in a sufficiently articulate manner.
28 - 29, very good: Exposition is clear and knowledge of the examination bibliography good; preparation on the contents is complete, very good ability to apply the knowledge and use the technical terminology of the discipline correctly.
30 - 30 with distinction, excellent: complete knowledge of bibliography with ability to critically discuss concepts; possible inclusion of optional readings. Very solid and thorough preparation of content, mastery of the use of technical terminology of the discipline, excellent ability to analyse, summarise and make connections; great confidence in exposition.
