The student must have acquired the concepts provided by the teaching of Psychometric I.
It is not allowed to take the EPG test if the Psychometry I exam has not been taken before.
Objectives
Contents The topics of the course are the following:
1. the scientific foundation of psychological discipline (educational objective no. 1);
2. the different research designs in Psychology (educational objective no. 2);.
3. the scientific writing in Psychology (educational objective no. 3).
The teaching of these topics concerns the understanding of the basis of psychological research and, above all, the practical applications of such theoretical knowledge.
Extended Syllabus The programme is the following:
1. the scientific basis of Psychological Science (educational objective No. 1);
2. the steps of the scientific research (educational objective No. 1);
3. the different research designs in Psychology: non-experimental research (observation, archival research, case study, survey) and experimental research (true experiments and quasi-experiments) (educational objectives No. 1 and No. 2);
4. the survey questionnaire in the psychological discipline: from the definition of the construct to the writing of the items (educational objectives No. 1 and No. 3);
5. scientific writing in Psychology (educational objectives No. 1 and No. 3);
6. the sections of a scientific article: from the title to the bibliography (educational objectives No. 1 and No. 3).

The lessons will also include guided practical exercises on the topics covered.
Moreover, the course will make use of CONNECT, an online platform for individual exercising at theoretical and practical levels. The personal access code of the platform will be provided to the students together with the textbook (Elementi di Psicometria, McGraw-Hill Education).
Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
The exam consists of a written test with 10 multiple-choice questions, with four alternatives (of which only one is correct), to be held in 10 minutes.
The exam is passed with a score of at least 6/10.
