There are some mathematical prerequisites:
1) Basic derivatives
2) Function optimization
3) Solution of (systems of) equations

Objectives

The aim is to introduce notions of game theory with reference to non-cooperative games.
At the end of the course the students will have acquired the basic theoretical and cognitive tools related to the analysis of the behavior and strategic decisions of the economic agents.

Dynamic Games
Repeated Games
Bayesian Games (static with incomplete information)

Extended Syllabus

Static games (with complete information)
Information sets, normal form, dominated strategies, Nash equilibrium, Cournot duopoly, Bertrand's duopoly model, Mixed strategies, applications.

Dynamic games
Extensive form, backward induction, Stackelberg's duopoly model, subgame perfection, subgame perfect Nash equilibrium, applications.

Repeated games
Finitely repeated games, infinitely repeated games, collusion, applications.

Bayesian Games (static with incomplete information)
Bayesian Nash equilibrium, duopoly with incomplete information, applications.
