Objectives

The teaching contributes to the realization of the educational objectives of the Course of Studies in Health Assistance providing students with the knowledge necessary for to apply preventive medicine strategies to the main human diseases.

EXPECTED LEARNING RESULTS

Knowledge and understanding
At the end of the lessons of the course the student will have to:
- know the fundamental concepts of the state of illness and the mechanisms of response to injuries.
- know the concept of prevention and the tools.

Applying knowledge and understanding
At the end of the lessons of the course the student will have to:
- Know how to undertake adequate preventive and protective actions against human health in the various phases of a person's life.

Making Judgments
At the end of the lessons of the course the student will have to:
-be able to evaluate prevention strategies.

Contents

The course aims to provide the necessary basis for achieving the strategic objectives of prevention, paying particular attention to the problems present in the developmental and adolescent age.
In particular, we will discuss the following topics:
- Strategic objectives of prevention
- Health education
- Health promotion in childhood and adolescence

Teaching Methods

The teaching is structured in frontal lessons of 2 or 3 hours according to the educational calendar. The lessons foresee a strong interactive component between Teacher and Students.
Attendance is mandatory.

Evaluation methods

Verification of learning:

Oral exam: the student must demonstrate his / her preparation by clearly and organizedly discussing the topics requested by the teacher.
The evaluation will be carried out using marks out of thirty.
