Objectives Contents The course will analyze the history, habits and customs of the French Louisiana of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
Extended Syllabus Analyzing the journals of the first French travelers in Louisiana we will try to define the mechanisms that govern their elaboration while demonstrating how they are always a rewriting reachable only through the synthesis of various components, including a vision that does not include only political-military events, but also cultural and economic ones, from language to thought, through the interpretation and the ability to select the acquired documents.
