The module provides advanced training in developmental psychology with respect to the social development and the self-representation in typical and atypical conditions by referring to the main theories and the most relevant empirical research in the field.
Graduates will be able to show
1) advanced knowledge and understanding of the main processes and mechanism underlying social development of individuals in different age periods, as preschoolers, schoolers and adolescents, and within their main life contexts, such as family, schools and peer groups, in adaptive as well as disadaptive conditions
2) the capacity to support theoretical claims with empirical data; to identify the main research questions, as well as hypotheses and aims of the most relevant research in the field
3) the capacity to organize knowledge in a coherent theoretical plan, grounded on a scientific methodological framework
4) the capacity to report and discuss original research findings and theoretical claims.
5) the capacity to reflect on their own performance and make constructive use of feedback as well as to work independently, and plan to work effectively.
