Fundamentals of experimental design. Elements of computer programming. Basic statistical data analyis and psychometrics.
Objectives Contents This module consists of a practical training to perform scientific work: from the ideation of an experimental study in the field of cognitive neuroscience, to the practicatl realization of the study, to the analysis of collected data, and finally to the writing of a scientific paper.
Extended Syllabus For the students attending class the planning and content of activity will be provided in class depending on the typology of study. For the students who do not attend class an alternative modality of carrying out the activities is available, provided on request by the teacher.
Recommended Bibliography The reference materials change from one year to the next and is provided during class.
Methods of Provision Teaching Methods The module is strongly practice-oriented, requiring that only a fraction of time will be spent in class teaching, and at least half of time will be devoted to data collection and analysis, as well as to writing the scientific paper.
