Logic skills; knowledge of infant’s development’s theories; knowledge of methods used to investigate infant’s development; knowledge of experimental methodology; ability to understand english papers.
Objectives Contents The course will provide advanced understanding of some of the most important topics in developmental psychology such as social development and the concept of self as developed during the age period lasting from preschool to adolescence. Graduates will also gain practice of the main tools aimed to detect and evaluate interpersonal relationships, social wellbeing as well as self-representation and self esteem.
Extended Syllabus The module will present social development and self-representation by referring to the main theorists, and the main relevant research in the field. It will discuss the changes occurring in the development of self-representation and self-esteem over the course of different age periods, from preschool to adolescence. Different life contexts will be examined, such as family, school, peer groups and the relationships inside each of them. A selected look will be deserved to emotional development. Moreover, individual differences in the adapting to the social environment will be examined and maladaptive adjustement (such as bullying) will be taken into consideration. The module will also present the main tools to detect and evaluate social skills.

Methods of Provision Teaching Methods Lectures; work in small groups followed by PP presentation; reading and discussing research articles.
Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
During the course: presentation of selected topics and research articles. Final: oral task with open questions. Results will get 30/30 points at the maximum.
