At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
- distinguish between literary and non-literary texts recognizing their difference in kind and not in degree, that is, the former as being the product of logic and reason while the latter as being the product of the imagination. The evaluation will take place through the various workshops, written quiz and seminars
- understand the theoretical framework and possess the technical know-how to identify and develop the various semantic links present in the non-literary text by identifying the main thesis and following its logical development through the various paragraphs that make up its body and conclusion

The student will be evaluated orally through the in-class workshops and in written form through multiple choice quizzes
- recognize the different modes of presenting ideas both in the literary and non-literary texts and how the means of persuasion are, from a psychological and sociological point of view, articulated. In other words, the student will recognize the indirect manner of presentation always present in the literary text, through the story-telling technique, and the explicit/seductive approach dictated by marketing and commercial necessities. The student will be evaluated orally through the in-class workshops and in written form through multiple choice quizzes

The student will be evaluated orally through the in-class workshops and in written form through multiple choice quizzes

the course
