Prerequisites:

The prerequisites for access to the course depend on the current regulations for the preparation of the CFU provided by the cdL.
It is advisable to have already acquired the basic concepts of Child Neuropsychiatry in order to better understand the clinical frameworks referred to in the topics treated

Objectives

The general objective of the course is to provide theoretical and practical knowledge of Occupational Therapy in the approach to the patient in developmental age.
At the end of the course the student will achieve the following specific objectives:
• the methodologies, techniques and specific tools of Occupational Therapy in the developmental age
• application of techniques and tools to different clinical cases.

Contents

•Basic concepts of the role of Occupational Therapy in the developmental age
•Objectives of the Occupational Therapist in the intervention in developmental age
•Occupational Therapy activities related to the various stages of the evolutionary age;
•Process of dynamic assessment and research of the resources of the evolving age subject (assessment sheet, use of material, relational approach)
•Drafting of the individualized rehabilitation programme: choice of objectives, methods, instruments, appropriate aids, criteria for verification;
•The role of the Occupational Therapist in working with the school and the family;
•Application of the topics covered in specific clinical cases

• Objectives of the TO in evolving age
• Strategies to develop and improve the child’s ability to act
• The importance of social skills and play as a means and end within a TO intervention
• Objectives of an Assessment and related assessment tools in evolving age
• The intervention of the TO in the school context and within the family context
