Objectives
Contents The course is aimed at transmitting the theoretical and methodological contents for the understanding of the aims and areas of the restoration intervention, in the peculiar theoretical reasons, in the theoretical and historical foundations and in the methodological issues.
The different ways of intervention carried out in the various eras will be studied in depth and, together with the fundamental history-restoration nexus, the elements that contribute to defining the framework of current conservation practice will be described; also analyzing, for exemplary cases, each critical orientation. A broad analytical-diagnostic panorama will also be outlined regarding the 'matter' and the operating methods of restoration, investigating the intervention techniques and innovative developments.

5. The restoration project respecting the authenticity of the monument: theoretical questions and technical choices.
6. Methods of 'direct' and instrumental survey of historical architecture and techniques of representation of the restoration project.
7. Chemical-physical investigation techniques for the study of architectural materials and the control of intervention methodologies.
