Visions of Italy in the Russian poetry of the first half of the 20th Century.
The purpose of the course is to present the elaboration of the myth of Italy by some of the major Russian poets of the 20th century. In the context of the so-called “silver age” of Russian poetry, literary images and devices will be highlighted by the intercultural approach.

Teaching Methods The course is structured in an amount of 60 class hours. It consists in classes of history of the cultural contacts between Russia and Italy, and of literary criticism about Russian poetry of the “Silver age”. The poems in Russian will be subjected to critical analysis. Multimedia resource material is used in support of the lectures.
