Objectives
Contents The myth of Don Juan in Spanish literature (1844-1994)
The course will examine the different manifestations of the myth of Don Juan in Spanish literature, universally considered as the first example of the myth.
Extended Syllabus - The explosion of the myth in Romanticism: Zorrilla.
- The relegation of the myth at the turn of the century: Valle-Inclán, Azorín, Unamuno.
- The remythologization of Don Juan: Torrente Ballester and its global version.
- Don Juan in modernity: Alonso de Santos or the otherness of the myth.

Teaching Methods
Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
Final oral exam in Spanish. The student will have to demonstrate critical mastery of the main works that make up the canon and be able to associate the different elements that make up the mythological continuum. Furthermore, in order to pass the course, it will be essential to be able to explain the metamorphoses of the myth in the various historical stages.
