Extended Syllabus The course is in two parts. The first one is focused on the theoretical analysis of the labour market and related policy implications. It will be analyzed the behavior of individuals, households and firms in the labour market, in terms of supply and labour demands, and it will be defined the competitive equilibrium in the labour market. It will be introduced the theme of education investment and the formation of human capital and, then, the labour market imperfections, with specific attention to unemployment. Finally, it will be analyzed the theme of labour market discrimination. The second part focuses on the topics presented in the first part by carrying out econometric analysis by using ad-hoc software and by analyzing scientific articles related to the theme developed in the first part.

Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
The exam consists in a written exam focusing on the topics presented in the course and included in the study plan. During the course, it can be carried out written tests, the results of will be considered by the teacher in the final evaluation. The written exam provides for the performance of theoretical questions and exercises. The sum of points associated to each question and exercise is 30. The final evaluation is expressed in thirtieths. The exam is passed if the student reaches an evaluation of at least 18/30.

Erasmus students have the possibility of taking the examination in English language
