Objectives Contents The program is primarily focused on the treatment of obstetric emergencies, including medical emergencies of major obstetric conditions. The main gynecological emergencies will then be treated with particular attention to differential diagnostics.
Extended Syllabus Genital bleeding. Gynecological causes of acute abdomen (torsion of ovarian cyst, hemorrhagic corpus luteum, pelvic inflammatory disease, endometriosis). First trimester bleeding: ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, trophoblast disease. Third trimester haemorrhages: placenta previa, placental abruption. placental accretism . Preeclampsia . Diabetic ketoacidosis . Acute CTG changes. Shoulder dystocia. Postpartum hemorrhage . Operative vaginal delivery (forceps, suction cups). Cord prolapse. Uterine inversion. Breech presentation

Teaching Methods The teaching is structured in 15 hours of frontal teaching, divided into lessons of 2 or 3 hours according to the academic calendar.

Oral exam. Written test with multiple choice quiz. The assessment will be expressed by a vote out of thirty.
