Objectives Contents The course aims to analyze the characteristics of the most recent and authoritative historical and educational studies and to provide a comprehensive overview of the evolution experienced by the educational models and the national school system from the 19th century to the Contemporary era. Particular attention will be given to several pivotal issues, including the concept of childhood, the evolution of educational theories and models, the gender issue, the problem of illiteracy, the establishment of the school system, the process of “fascistization”, the higher education reform, the advent of democracy, student protests of ’68 and the concept of mass education.

Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
The final examination consists of an oral interview, which aims to verify the acquired knowledge and subject mastery. The evaluation will focus on the following criteria: understanding of the course material, clarity of presentation, use of the specialized language of the discipline, argumentative and critical skills, ability to analyze and rework the information.
