Objectives
Contents Concepts of history, institutions and socio-cultural issues relating to Spain and some Spanish-speaking countries. Particular attention will be paid to political institutions and the economic and cultural aspects that define contemporary reality.
Extended Syllabus Module 1: Elementos de Historia y Cultura de España
The module aims to provide the student with the fundamental elements of Spanish history and cultural fabric from the 16th century to the end of the Franco dictatorship.
Module 2: Cultura e Instituciones de los Países de lengua española
The module aims to bring the student closer to the history of Latin America, particularly that of Mexico and Argentina, through the analysis of some of the events, of openness and reception, through which these countries have constructed their identity.
Module 3: España en el siglo XXI
The module aims to provide the student with an overview of present-day Spain by offering a representative sampling of political, economic and socio-cultural events.

Teaching Methods
Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
There’s a final oral exam, in order to verify the knowledge of the topics covered (historical, economic and socio-cultural aspects), the acquisition of specialist vocabulary, clarity of presentation and the ability to give a critical reading of the topics covered, drawing comparisons between different cultural realities.
The exam will be taken in Spanish language and the evaluation will be expressed in thirtieths.
