The educational objective of the annual course is to promote a general knowledge of the German language in accordance with the particular needs of the courses of studies - in particular a first knowledge of the German language in its morpho-syntactic and semantic and textual structures. From a linguistic point of view the course aims to provide the necessary tools to reach level A2 + of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages by developing the four basic skills in an integrated way (comprehension and production of written texts, oral comprehension and expression): Learners can understand expressions and words of very frequent use. They can read short and simple texts, find specific information in everyday material and grab the essence of messages and announcements.They also manage to communicate by dealing with simple and routine tasks. They manage to participate in short conversations using a series of expressions and phrases to describe their life conditions. Furthermore they manage to take simple notes and to write short messages on topics concerning immediate needs.
The course is aimed at acquiring the German language in terms of comprehension and written and oral production. The course is structured in order to pursue a basic knowledge of German phonetics and phonology, morphology and syntax. Particular importance will be given to applied phonetics including a wide range of practical classroom exercises.
Module I Reflection on the language at a theoretical and practical level A Scientific description of the language especially in its grammatical structures - verb: indicative present, preterite, perfect; future I; modal verbs; subjunctive I; verbs with separable and inseparable prefix; reflexive verbs; infinitive and participle - articles and nouns: definite and indefinite article; determiners; declension of nouns - adjectives: attributive and predicative adjectives; comparison; numerals - pronouns: reflexive, demonstrative, interrogative, relative, indefinite, negative, personal - prepositions and adverbs - propositions: the verb; the noun; coordinated, subordinate propositions During the lessons will be used a contrastive approach of teaching Module II Phonetics, Syntax and Morphology Concrete study of physical properties (acoustic phonetics) and physiological (perceptive, articulatory phonetics) of the sounds of the German language: practical exercises with the aim of acquiring a natural and authentic pronunciation and prosody - "Der Satz" - Word Formation; Derivation

Within the annual course the following teaching methods are provided:
- teacher-centred-teaching - groupwork - tutorial during the lessons - Homework - lektorship (CEL)
-- written exams: the exams are held during the year or in the examination dates which are established after the teaching period. The duration of each written test is 180 minutes. - The final exam is an oral exam. The examination dates and times are published to the web.
-Attendance of the CEL exercises is strongly recommended in order to reach the levels of linguistic competence required by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and to pass the final exam of Language . Before accessing the exam with the professor, students will take the test provided by the lecturer according to the procedures established by the CLA. During the final exam, the professor will take into account the result achieved in formulating the final evaluation.
