Hours of classroom activity:
Prerequisites:
The course will allow the achievement of the educational objectives indicated also for students who have not acquired specific knowledge relating to the discipline. No prerequisites are foreseen.
Objectives
Contents The contents of the course concern the origins and developments, especially the more recent ones, of the main theoretical models and reading approaches relating to third sector organizations and their presence and interaction in the systemic con-text of societies with high socio-economic development, according to a line of evolution of the socio-political discourse inaugurated by the definition "social innovation", with the use of political, economic and sociological contributions to the deepen-ing of the "Third Sector" object. Furthermore, the aforementioned contents concern the logic of activity and functioning of the ETS entities, with the appropriate highlighting of the operational, procedural and management dynamics that articulate the variety and specificity of the sector. Furthermore, the contents include some "directional" considerations of the theme relating to the levels of governance and the interactions between the public and the third sector, especially in the context of the integrated co-planning of personal services in the general framework of the territorial welfare system community, as an element of focalization of social innovation, also in the light of the latest regulatory developments starting from the Delegated Law n. 106 of 6 June 2016. This analysis is a prelude to the recognition and distinction of the different types of ETS bodies, which include, for example, social enterprises, social promotion associations, foundations, voluntary and social organizations.
Extended Syllabus The course will be dedicated to the presentation, in-depth analysis, critical elaboration of arguments and themes relating to the birth, evolution and developments, especially the more recent ones, of the main theoretical models and reading approaches relating to third sector organizations and their presence and interaction in the systemic context of companies with a high socio-economic development, with the use of socio-political, economic and sociological contributions to the deepening of the "Third Sector" object. Students will therefore be able to acquire various knowledge relating to the nature, value, functions, operational purposes and characteristics and typologies of "third sector" entities (ETS) and the role they play as key players and stakeholders and supporting actors in the process of construction, planning, delivery, management and implementation of social policies within the framework of the welfare system, also in an international comparative perspective.
