Teaching Methods The course consists of 18 hours of lessons. It favours discussion in French and the interaction with the teacher. The lessons involve the use of tools such as audio-video media, press articles and specialized online magazines as well as moments dedicated to morpho-syntactic, phonetics, listening and translation exercises. During the lessons there will be moments dedicated to exercises in which students are expected to actively participate through the critical discussion of essays, articles and texts to acquire a technical vocabulary and develop knowledge of the major issues that move the francophone society.
Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
Students will carry out an oral test relating to the contents covered during the lessons which will be divided into an assessment of the language (reading, translation and short conversation on a sociological text in French) and some questions about the cultural part.
The evaluation is expressed in terms of suitability and unsuitability.
The evaluation criteria for suitability are as follows:
• Correctness of exposition and pronunciation
• Mastery of syntactic structures and the correct use of verbs, accords and periphrastic forms
• Clarity and quality of the oral exposition which allows the main aspects of the topic to be clearly understood and denotes a capacity for critical re-elaboration
• Relevance of the answers provided to the teacher’s questions
