The course aims to learn the main techniques for data exploration (data mining) and supervised learning (supervised learning) and their implementation in the R software. Particular emphasis will be given to the process of data modelling for prediction (predictive modelling). At the end of the course the student will be able to deal with the analysis of complex data for forecasting purposes through the process of data exploration, manipulation, and modelling.
The course pursues the general objective of the course of study to provide knowledge and skills for executive functions in the economic-financial area of companies and/or public institutions. Alongside the study of the methodologies, space will be given to the applications and operational aspects with the use of the R statistical software.
