By the end of this course students will understand:
• The principal features of the content and form of the novels and stories studied.
• The relevant contexts - historical, biographical, literary, ideological - for the main works studied.
And they will have developed the following skills:
• The ability to identify relevant factors of specific content and form in each Literary period studied
• The ability to recognize features of differing contexts present in each Literary period studied
• The ability to undertake a literary analysis of a fictional text proposed.

Grades:
Excellent: Students' high capability to elaborate on the exiting debates on the topics proposed, originality of thought and excellent knowledge of the theories and of the texts; accurate and appropriate language.
Very good level: Students' capability to elaborate on the exiting debates on the topics proposed, originality of thought and very good knowledge of the theories and of the texts ; appropriate, accurate language.
Good level: Students' capability to elaborate on the exiting debates on the topics proposed, knowledge of the theories and of the texts; and appropriate language.
Pass: Students' capability to enter the exiting debates on the topics proposed, knowledge of the theories and of the texts ; appropriate language.
Fail: Student's lack of knowledge of the theories employed during the course, incapability to critical reading of the novels, inappropriate and inaccurate language.
